You are aware that we’ll someday see a Guitar Hero 27, right? This is one franchise that has not only blown up and entranced millions of gamers worldwide, but it has already proven its staying power.
Many more off-shoots and iterations are on the way, but perhaps the most anticipated is the next official installment in the series: Guitar Hero 5. The official website for the game has just opened, and in addition to revealing the release date – September 1 – there’s also a sweepstakes you can enter. Winners will receive 5 tickets to 5 different concerts of their choice! We’ve also heard about a few additional details concerning the gameplay; for example, we’ll see the all new “Party Play” mode. It supports 0-4 players…yeah, that’s right, 0. You can actually start with no players or instruments as the music will just play in a pseudo-jukebox mode of sorts, and when the party hears a song they want to play, they can pick up the instruments and jump in.
Furthermore, you can mix and match all the available instruments any way you wish in Guitar Hero 5. It’s guaranteed to be a must-buy for all fans of the series, and if you haven’t yet jumped on the bandwagon, maybe you should set aside some money for the first of September. Really, it’s not just a success…it’s a phenomenon.
We’ll probably see more of Guitar Hero 5 at E3, but at this point, it’s almost unnecessary. We know what to expect and those who do are ready and willing to throw down with those plastic instruments once again.
